Who We Are
A Shoppin' Baby was initially created as a series of illustrations published on Milk China Magazine by Hong-Kong-artist Dorophy Tang since 2008. The inspiration came from the lucky babies on the traditional Chinese New Year prints. The babies instead of holding the harvest, they would be combined with modern products & brands, humorously expresses the phenomenon of contemporary consumer culture and pop culture. The characters are successfully combined with tradition and popular culture, as well as East and West cultures. In addition to illustrations, the characters of chubby boys and girls with Chinese faces will appear in different forms of exhibitions and various categories of products, and serve as promotional ambassadors for different projects and cooperative brands. In 2023, A Shoppin’ Baby was awarded for the ‘Hall of Fame Award’ for Brand Design Award 2023, organized by Hong Kong Designers Association.
